Subject: Scam Using Your Name

Hello,

My name is Amanda. I recently have almost fallen victim to a scam. The ad said the puppy was in California and would be shipping via Air Animal Pet Moving Services. The e-mail said that it was the Dublin branch and I was supposed to send my money to Cameroon. Upon receiving my name, address, and phone number, they sent me information to pay. The reason I am contacting you is that I wanted you to be aware someone is scamming prospective pet owners using your company’s name. I know there’s probably not much you can do, but I wanted to pass on the information. The following link is similar to the e-mail I was sent. I would be happy to forward the e-mail on to you, if you would like to see it.

Marmoset monkeys : Springfield, Oregon : SCAM

... the family in Springfield, Oregon had successfully identified the scam of two months ago as the African Cameroon scammers had attempted to scam the family with a Capuchin monkey.

... not being successful, the scammers used the Marmoset as bait for the families daughter ... and the father was smart enough to call us to gather more information.

... fortunately, no money was sent to Africa.

English Springer Spaniel puppy from Winnipeg to Pennsylvania : SCAM

.. Suzette called from Central Pennsylvania seeking confirmation that if she wired USD$150.00 and then a second wired Western Union money order in the amount of USD$200.00 for residential delivery... ... that she would receive the ten week old puppy in time for her husband to enjoy as a Christmas gift.

... what confused Suzette was that the telephone numbers she was given either did not answer or were "not in service any longer".

... of course, the photograph of the puppy was cute and wholesome .. and was used to set the bait for the multiple sting operation.

... another prospective puppy purchaser saved from financial loss and disappointment.

... keeping track of the scammers is a full time job. Today's been a busy day.

... the call came in from Missisauga, Ontario, Canada that the Chihuahua puppy was ready for shipment from the Winnipeg office of Air Animal ..... which does not exist ... to Toronto ...

... the money was to be wired by Western Union to the Cameroon office of Air Animal .. which does not exist ..

... another potential pet owner saved from sending their hard earned funds from Canada to Cameroon .. a certain ripoff ..
